Luxus mit Logistikproblemen

MSCs private island Ocean Cay isn't particularly great, but it's okay since there are palm trees and beaches.

Many cruise lines have their own islands in the Caribbean where they dock their ships. Some are as relaxed and therefore a bit boring as those from MSC, others have more of an amusement park style.

The only thing that was annoying was the logistics. Although there should have been a shuttle and a tent for the yacht club passengers to meet, the staff clearly didn't know what to do.

The tent was mostly empty, the golf carts either didn't drive or almost only took employees instead of passengers, and one of the drivers even got really cheeky. The butlers who were supposed to accompany the yacht club guests were also not available, at least during the times when we wanted to get through the ship.

The yacht club is a good theory, but the practice is sometimes almost more stressful than for the regular passengers, who paid several thousand dollars less and were at least treated better on the island. Die Privatinsel Oceancay von MSC ist nicht besonders toll, aber da es Palmen und Strände gibt okay.

🇩🇪 Viele Kreuzfahrt - Reedereien haben in der Karibik eigene Inseln, wo sie mit ihren Schiffen anlegen. Manche sind so entspannt und damit etwas langweilig wie die von MSC, manche haben mehr den Stil von Vergnügungsparks.

Nervig war nur die Logistik. Obwohl es eigentlich für die Yachtclub - Passagiere Shuttle und ein Zelt zum Treffen hätte geben sollen, wussten die Mitarbeiter offensichtlich nicht gut, was sie machen sollten.

Das Zelt war meistens leer, die Golfcars fuhren entweder nicht oder nahmen statt den Passagieren fast nur Mitarbeiter mit, einer der Fahrer wurde sogar richtig frech. Auch die Butler, die die Yachtclub - Gäste begleiten sollten, waren zumindest in den Zeiten, als wir durchs Schiff wollten, nicht verfügbar.

Der Yachtclub ist eine gute Theorie, aber die Praxis ist manchmal fast anstrengender als für die normalen Passagiere, die mehrere Tausend Dollar weniger zahlten und zumindest auf der Insel besser behandelt wurden.
